HELLO, I’M CAROL
After 30 years of interviewing people during my radio career and as the Founder of Lost Newcastle, I understand the value of preserving family history.
Our family history is more than just a list of events; it is experiences, values, a sense of identity and belonging that is passed down through generations. When we capture these stories in the voices of our loved ones, we get to hear from them, to time travel with them and to understand their lives better.
Record these precious stories before it’s too late.
We often plan to ‘get around to it’, and then find we’ve missed the opportunity to save our loved one’s memories for our children and grandchildren.
Or perhaps it’s YOU who would like to record a story for your family. What do you want your grandchildren to know about you, your own parents, and your life?
Helping families save these stories with their loved ones is now one of the most important things I do.
I’ve enjoyed a long career in radio and professional media production and I have the skills to ensure your precious family stories are saved for future generations.
It would be a privilege and a joy to help you. Imagine your grandchildren and great-grandchildren hearing the voices of their ancestors, sharing in their triumphs and tribulations.
I will help you with ideas and memory prompts and will research with you to ensure you capture the really special stories.
Don’t leave it until it’s too late. Make sure your family gets to hear those stories – in their own voice.
Preserve Your Family Stories
Preserving the memories of your loved ones is a priceless gift. Don’t let those stories fade away. Let Lost Newcastle help you capture and preserve the rich history of your family for future generations.
And if you’re a bit shy, don’t worry, I can facilitate the conversation or even do it for you to make sure you’re comfortable.
With decades of professional broadcasting and interviewing experience, I’ll ensure that your family’s stories are saved in their own voices.
Celebrate Special Events
Weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and memorials. Let’s record the stories behind these events with the people who feature.
Maybe you have a school reunion coming up and would like to capture the stories and share them with your friends who can’t attend.
If you have a special event coming up where you’d like to capture stories from a few guests or other family members, get in touch.
Reminiscence activities are recognised as offering very positive and rewarding experiences. Our gentle, guided conversations can help you capture these precious moments.
Older members of the family may find it helpful to reminisce over a selection of photographs, for example.
I particularly love helping seniors take a trip down memory lane – one that you can keep forever.
How does it work?
Tell us who we’ll be interviewing and what you would like to be included in the conversation. We’ll help you with some starter ideas to get you going. You may already know which stories you’d like to share but we’ll certainly help make it easy.
We’ll schedule a day, time and location (even online if that’s easier) that suits you for the recording of your conversation. Personal podcasts are usually around 60 minutes in duration. [Longer podcasts, further episodes or face to face recordings outside the Newcastle area can be arranged for an additional fee.]
You’ll receive a professionally edited and produced, studio-quality podcast that you are free to copy and share with family and friends, or to give to your children and grandchildren as a keepsake. From just $695, we’ll help you prepare, record and produce your story, and get it promptly back to you.
