The hotel in the background is the Premier Hotel. The tram you can see is actually a ‘trailer’ being pulled by a steam powered tram engine. This pre-dates electrification which began in 1923.
The motor lorry has a signboard “Adamstown”, so perhaps it is a bus. The building on the right is a large waiting room for tram/bus passengers, with a lean-to toilet behind it. The ‘tower’ is a sewer vent pipe. Down the side of the theatre are two petrol bowsers for the Mobil petrol station.

Fantastic! Wonderful seeing how the towns developed and oh! so much infrastructure for so few people. Anyone know where the money came for all this? Would be great to see a financial comparison for then to now.
